1st year Syllabus
- Dance, Kathak dance, Tatkar, Thaat, Salami, Aamd, Toda, Taal, Lay, Types of rhythm (Vilambit, Madhya, Drut), Matra, Avartan, Theka, Sam, Tali (Bhari), Tihai and Hastak Khali (Cleft) ), fathom, double and quadruple,
- Explanation of two main musical systems of music and India.
- Knowledge of writing Tatkar, Taal’s contracts and Todas in Bhatkhande or Vishnu Digambar taal system.
- Complete introduction of Tintal, Jhaptal, Dadra and Kaharwa locks.
- Knowledge of the following technical terms:-Dance, theatrical dance, Tandava, Lasya, Anga Pratyanga, Pathant, Gaatbhaav, Mudra and Chakkardar Toda.
- General knowledge about sound and sound.
- General knowledge of Bhatkhande or Vishnu Digambar rhythmic system prevalent in North Indian music.
- Knowledge of writing Tatakar, Taal’s Thekas and Todas in Bhatkhande or Vishnu Digambar taal systems.

- Knowledge of different types of Chakkar in Kathak.
- Knowledge of hands and their use in Kathak dance
- Thaat in Teentaal.
- Inflow into Teental.
- Ordinary Toda and Tihati in Teentaal
- Contracts for Tintal, Jhaptal, Dadra, Kaharwa locks handed over
- Practice of reading in Thaha and Dugun while giving empty clap.
- Modern dance in Dadra and Kaharwa rhythms.
- To speak in taha and dugun by clapping the hands of tatkaar, todo and thirds.
- Dance on music related to Kathak.
- Information about folk dances and some folk dances.
- 2 tatkar, 1 thaat, 1 salami
- 5 simple parts and 5 thirds
- Folk dance in Dadra and Kaharwa ponds
- Saying lak, double and quadruple notes of Ektaal and Sultaal by clapping hands.
